Are you in need of the Pink Ribbon Riders organization Patient Assistance Program to help make one day less stressful? We are here to help and want to make the application fast and easy for you. Please read the below section and gather as many of the documents needed BEFORE you apply online. This will help speed up your acceptance opportunity. 

Only during the “open period” will be when you can apply. If we are in a “closed” period, you can not apply, but you can get a jump start on the things you will need and get ready for our next open period.

Before proceeding to the NEXT STEP please review the below requirements:

#1 – You must reside in one of the states below:

MINNESOTA

WISCONSIN

WYOMING

NEW YORK

 * Not accepting patients from the NYC, Staten Island or Long Island area

MICHIGAN*- Limited

*Not accepting patients from the Detroit area

#2 – Are you a U.S. citizen? You will need to provide proof. Get this before you apply.

#3 – Are you in “Current” treatment for breast cancer (see the definition below). If you can answer yes to this question, then keep moving on. Please know that you will need to have a doctor verify information that will be explained shortly.

  • Current treatment is defined as: Receiving chemo, radiation, awaiting your surgery, going through surgery or within in 6 months of your treatment. Hormonal therapy does not qualify for this program. 

#4 - have you felt financial stress due to being diagnosed with Breast Cancer? If so, You will need to explain and provide one document. Get this ready before you apply.

Instructions to apply

Part 1: Online Application Form

  • Complete your online application form by clicking on the state in which you live in below.
  • You will receive an email after completing part 1 online with a link to part 2 which is a printable document.
  • Check your spam folders if it does not show up in your inbox.

Part 2: Email with printable document 

  • Once you have completed Part 1 you will receive an immediate email.
  • Print document.
  • Complete and gather your needed documents.
  • Contact your doctors office to complete their portion of the application.
  • Scan all documents together and email to Pink Ribbon Riders.
  • Deadline is 6/12/26 by 5:00pm EST

Program Purpose and Mission:

The Pink Ribbon Riders organization’s Patient Assistance Program is made available to provide direct financial assistance for men and women currently diagnosed with breast cancer in current treatment (chemo, radiation, surgery or awaiting surgery).

The program is for patients that are behind on medical bills or need financial assistance because the disease of breast cancer has impacted them financially and become a financial burden.

Patients must be current residents in the states of: New York, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Wyoming. Some county restrictions apply.  The gift of financial assistance is in the amount of $500.00 once in a lifetime. The organization and it’s gift of assistance was created in hopes of making one day less stressful in person’s battle against breast cancer.

Disclosures:

The Pink Ribbon Riders organization has and will change notifications/ dates/ giving amounts/ announcements or the process of the program as needed based on organization resources, staff or world events may happen or affect the organization in any form.

Summary of the Program:

To be eligible you must meet all 4 eligibility requirements:

  • Financial stress
  • US Citizen
  • Current resident in : New York, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota or Wyoming.
  • Currently undergoing breast cancer treatments: chemo, radiation, surgery, or awaiting surgery, or within a 6 month grace period of these treatments with outstanding bills related to your diagnosis.  This does not include hormonal therapy maintenance.

How We are Able to Give the Gifts:

  • The program is available due to the generosity of our donors and the volunteers that help with our fundraising events.
  • A completed application is not a guarantee of receiving the gift.
  • The committee reserves the right to distribute assistance amounts based on funds available at the time.

COMMON USED TERMS

Open Period– The open date is the date that we begin accepting pre-applications. The length of time that pre-applications are accepted will vary based on the amount of people applying.

Closed Period- The closed date is the date when we stop accepting pre-applications. The time frame between the closed date and the next open date is considered our closed period when we are processing applications, preparing for the financial distribution, and fundraising

Financial Assistance Distribution Date- The Financial Assistance Distribution date is the date on which the approved applicants are awarded.

INFORMATION FOR NURSES / CANCER CENTERS

If you are a new referrer to our program as a nurse/ social worker or cancer center. Please click on: “ADD ME TO YOUR LIST” to be added to our referrer list. Make sure to specify your position in the message section.  We will notify all by email once you have asked to be on our referral list.
